VIDEO : Showrunner Says 'The Witcher' To Remain True To Source

Celebrity in this news:

Comicbook.com reports that Netflix's "The Witcher" will remain true to Its source.
Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich is reiterating her stance on honoring the series' Polish roots.
The source material in question here comes from Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski
Production on the series is ready to start, but already there's been outcry from fans.
Rumors stated the team was looking for a woman of color to play the character of Ciri.
A large part of the Polish community came out against the decision.
But Hissrich is addressing the cultural concerns, after announcing Freya Allen would play Ciri.
"One of the things I feel most strongly about is people being afraid that we?re going to strip out the cultural context of 'The Witcher,' to remove its Slavic roots, the very thing people in Poland are proud of. That couldn?t be further from the truth. What I?ve always wanted to do is take these Slavic stories and give them a global audience." Lauren S. Hissrich
