Time to separate fact from fiction when it comes to smiling.
According to Allure, a few years ago research suggested that smiling makes a person look youthful? three years younger in fact.
But new research links smiling to decreased stress levels and heart rates, more immunity, and may even make exercise sessions seem less strenuous.

Allure explains, " You're not going to get pronounced nasolabial folds or marionette lines (the creases that cradle either side of the mouth) from muscle movement alone."
Wrinkles can instead be caused by a combination skin thickness, elasticity, fat distribution, and collagen content.
Allure adds, "all of which have genetic and environmental influences."
