?Venom? has helped start October strong for American box offices.

Reuters reports Tom Hardy?s ?Venom? hit $80 million for Sony and Marvel.

?Venom? surpassed the record for an October opening, topping "Gravity", which opened with $55.8 million.

The film also did well internationally at $125.2 million.
