VIDEO : HBO To End Live Boxing Matches After 45 Years

SF Gate reports that after 45 years, cable network HBO will be throwing in the towel on live boxing events. The network released a statement saying; "Going forward in 2019, we will be pivoting away from programming live boxing on HBO. As always, we will remain open to looking at events that fit our programming mix. This could include boxing, just not for the foreseeable future.?The premium cable network's last scheduled fight will be the Oct. 27 Madison Square Garden middleweight title fight between Danny Jacobs and Sergey Derevianchenko.
