Extra reports that Lady Gaga had some big shoes to fill in the remake as an up-and-coming singer. The character was previously played by Judy Garland in 1954, and then by Streisand in 1976.
At a recording studio in Malibu, Streisand praised Lady Gaga?s performance, saying, ?Of course I?ve seen it. I loved it. I think it is wonderful. She is wonderful.?
She went on, ?Bradley told me he spent months with her working to see her real self. I call her Stefani. I can?t call her Lady Gaga, but I understand why she calls herself Lady Gaga. I understand that person. I think it is great... they are going to have a big hit.?
