British politician Damian Collins is calling for tighter regulations on Social Media.
This after reviewing a recent investigation into Instagram's new service IGTV.
Business Insider discovered that IGTV's algorithm recommended disturbing and potentially illegal videos.
The three-week investigation even yielded material that had to be referred to the police.
According to Collins, Instagram TV's disturbing videos prove regulation is necessary.
Lawmakers want to create a "commercial incentive" for companies to moderate their content,.
"It's a question of the responsibility of the companies to monitor the content that's on their platforms. A lot of the problematic content is already in breach of the community guidelines of these services, but what it shows is that there's not effective enforcement." Damian Collins
