Celebrity in this news:

Amy Schumer sent out a statement to men who joke about sexual assault and the changes brought on by the Me Too movement: ?STOP.?
?Any dude saying ?I?m scared to be in a room with a woman now? or ?is it ok to say hello? I don?t know the new rules,? STOP,? the comedian wrote on Twitter Wednesday.
?What you are doing is belittling victims who have been wronged,? Schumer?s statement continued. ?They say 1 in 6 women in our country are sexually assaulted. That?s based on who reports it. It?s been proven to be closer to 1 in 3. Your sisters/daughters. Stop making fun of the terror and indignity most of us have faced in our lives.?
?If you?re confused about the new rules,? she continued, ?Just ask and don?t make it a joke. Because that?s harmful and we don?t want to hear that kind of joke right now. Mmmmmkay??
The actress and comedian has spoken publicly about sexual abuse and the indignity victims face when they come forward. Schumer commented on the sexual misconduct allegations against comedian and friend Aziz Ansari earlier this year, saying that people need to change where their focus goes when something like this happens.
?I don?t think anyone wants to see Aziz?s career ruined or his life ruined or anything like that, but that?s where people?s minds go,? said Schumer at the time.
?They go, ?Does he deserve this?? And it?s really not about that. I think it?s about expressing and showing women that that behavior?s not OK and not only can you leave, but you need to leave,? she said.
