Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian did not celebrate their daughter?s one year birthday. Williams had already warned people that they would not throw her a party because it was against her beliefs. Williams is a Jehovah Witness and explained that in her practice they do not celebrate birthdays. Even so, people criticized the couple for not throwing her a party or saying ?happy birthday.? Although Ohanian is not a Witness, he assured people that their baby is loved and will be celebrated always.
