Eight months after the film was released in theaters, it continues to inspire heated debates about its various creative choices. Screenrant reports longtime fans couldn't fathom that the man who brought Darth Vader back to the light would turn his back on his friends and remove himself from the fight. When asked by a fan on Twitter why Luke gave up in the Last Jedi, Hamill responds, "When I understand, I'll let you know."
