According to Reuters, Vanessa Redgrave received a lifetime achievement award at the Venice Film Festival this week.
In her acceptance speak, Redgrave added her voice to those calling for more visibility of female directors, even is she said women were sometimes hard to work with.
Redgrave began her career on stage in the 1950?s and it led to an Oscar-winning movie career. For this she received a Golden Lion from the a festival that has been criticized for the small number of women directors in its line-up
