What do we know about the upcoming Joker origin flick?
Todd Phillips is developing the stand-alone Joker origin story.
It will star Joaquin Phoenix.
Digital Trends reports the film is scheduled to hit theaters October 4, 2019.
Alec Baldwin was slated to play Bruce Wayne's father, Thomas Wayne - however, he left the project.
Zazie Beetz will play Phoenix love interest.
Robert De Niro and Marc Maron are also in the film, in undisclosed roles.
Phoenix as a stand-up comedian who turns to a life of crime when he reaches a breaking point.
The film will have no connection to Jared Leto's Joker from the DCEU.
