Although summer is technically winding down, Allure reports that Bachelor in Paradise is still bringing the heat.
But it's not necessarily the good and entertaining kind of 'heat.'
In an Allure op-ed, writer op-ed, De Elizabeth, explores how the theme of toxic masculinity dominates the current season of "Bachelor in Paradise" and how damaging that can be.
De Elizabeth says that the "sinister motif of toxic masculinity....throws a dark cloud over the otherwise sunny reality show."
She says that many of the male characters have fights, "shocking bouts of jealousy," and are verbally abusive.
De Elizabeth says that Chris Randone, a former Bachelorette contestant, is one of the "toxic" men, due to his "aggressive behavior toward the other men" and "possessive tendencies."
De Elizabeth adds, "...He accused Becca of not giving him enough attention."
A Twitter user summed it up by saying, "Everything Chris says SCREAMS verbal abuser. And Lincoln is not any better. Get this trash off of my quality garbage TV show."
