According to Geek.com the Lego mini figure is celebrating its 40th birthday today. Originally, mini figures didn?t feature very much detail. There were no arms and the legs were a single snap-in brick. Also their faces were completely blank. However that all changed in 1978 when Lego introduced the mini figures we are familiar with today. The 1978 figures featured the same movable body parts that we see today as well as the iconic mini figure smiley face.
