Matt Smith, former star of "Doctor Who" and "The Crown,? has been cast in next year's "Star Wars: Episode IX."
Variety reports that he will play a ?key role,? though it?s unknown if he?ll be joining the Resistance or the dark side.
According to Business Insider, Smith is nominated for an Emmy this year for his performance as Prince Phillip in the second season of Netflix?s ?The Crown.?
