Hundreds of Aretha Franklin fans gathered Tuesday morning to honor the late soul icon. Franklin passed away from pancreatic cancer earlier this month at age 76. A public visitation began Tuesday in Franklin?s hometown of Detroit, Michigan, Rolling Stone reports. The visitation is taking place at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African-American History. The singer?s body arrived in a white Lasalle car and was displayed inside a gold casket. Some fans reportedly slept on the sidewalk overnight, hoping to be the first visitors.
