According to Reuters, one of Broadway?s most popular playwrights Neil Simon has died at age 91. Simon had become famous for his ability to combine humor, drama and introspection in works such as ?The Odd Couple,? ?The Goodbye Girl? and ?Lost in Yonkers." Simon wrote more than 40 plays that were funny, moving and immensely popular, which made him a Broadway staple each season from 1960 through the 1990s. In 1995 Simon received Kennedy Center honors from President Bill Clinton for his contribution to the arts and to popular culture in the 20th century. Clinton said, "(Simon) challenges us and himself never to take ourselves too seriously."
