John Lennon wrote ?Imagine? at his white grand piano in his bedroom at his Tittenhurst Park estate.
When he cut it in the studio, it would also feature bass, drums and a string arrangement.
However, in a box set anthology of his Imagine album, the original stripped version of the song will be released.
According to Rolling Stone, the new box set is due out October 5th.
