Kevin Kwan is being accused of draft-dodging Singapore?s compulsory military service. The author of ?Crazy Rich Asians? could face up to three years in jail if convicted. Singapore?s Ministry of Defense said the author stayed overseas without a valid exit permit. Although Kwan applied to renounce his Singapore citizenship without serving, it was rejected. According to SFGate, this means Kwan has to pay a $10,000 fine or be jailed for three years.
