Extra reports that actress/director Lena Dunham posted two nude pictures of herself on Instagram on Wednesday.
The reason? She celebrated the 9 month anniversary of her hysterectomy.
Dunham explained on Instagram, "I?ve never celebrated the 9 month anniversary of anything and I realized last night why that number feels so funny- I won?t ever do it the way I planned to."
The 32-year-old renamed her special anniversary day: "Happy Giving Birth Day to Myself Day."
Dunham has been vocal about her health struggles throughout the years, documenting her journey with endometriosis.
Extra describes endometriosis as "a painful disorder in which tissue that usually lines the inside of the uterus grows on the outside."
Despite the personal challenge the actress maintained her sense of humor in the post. She wrote, ?My friend Paul named my uterus Judy, and when she was being uppity we called her out, hence the tattoo on my ribs, which hurt like f**k even through the pain meds: #RIPJudy.?
