VIDEO : 'The Meg' Opens Strong at the Box Office

According to comicbook.com, "The Meg" is starting off strong at the box office this weekend, opening to $44.5 million.That's more than double what The Meg was expected to earn. Most only projected the thriller to earn in the $20-22 million in its opening weekend. The Meg, is directed by Jon Turteltaub and was developed from a screenplay by Dean Georgaris, Jon Hoeber, and Erich Hoeber. The thriller about a crew trapped at sea is based on the book 'Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror' by Steve Alten.
