A Hollywood film doesn't necessarily have to perform well in North America in order to be considered a success. According to Digital Trends, plenty of them did surprisingly well in Europe and Asia. For instance, "Triple X: The Return Of Xander Cage" made a piddling $44m in US theatres, but a whopping $301 million overseas. "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" brought in a respectable $241.1 million in America, but amassed the booty of $804.6 million abroad. Brad Pitt?s flowing blonde locks and dazzling moves in "Troy" did well in the American box office battle, bringing in an honorable $133.4 million. But it was nothing compared to its stunning victory abroad, taking in $364 million in the spoils of war.
