**The Meg** stars Jason Statham as a diver who fights a prehistoric shark called a Megaladon.
The film is expected to open to $25 million this weekend.
It looks to earn bigger numbers in China this weekend with the help of Statham?s co-star Li Bingbing.
The Jon Turtletaub-directed blockbuster has earned mixed reviews.
