Petitioners have called on Jessica Chastain to fire Matthew Newton from his role as the director of her upcoming movie ?Eve.? Newton has a known history of physical assault accusations. TheWrap reports that the Care2 petition, titled ?#TimesUp Activist Jessica Chastain Hires Domestic Abuser to Direct New Film,? has garnered more than 6,000 signatures as of Thursday. The petition says, "#TimesUp for rich and powerful men being absolved of horrific abuse against women.
