A New York Times theater critic apologized after making a joke about a transgender performer.
**Head Over Heels** opened July 26 at New York?s Hudson Theatre.
It is the first Broadway musical to star an openly transgender woman in a principal role.
?RuPaul?s Drag Race? veteran Peppermint plays Pythio the Oracle, a non-binary character.
Critic Ben Brantley misgendered Peppermint in his review.
