Despite rumors that ?The Simpsons? character Apu is going to be retired, creator Matt Groening has come to the quick defense of the beloved Indian-American cashier. According to SF Gate, at the Television Critics Association press tour Groening said that he and other "The Simpsons" producers ?Haven?t talked about it." He also mentioned that he "is proud of everything (they) do on ?The Simpsons."
