The index was created in 2013 by Frank DuBois.
The study uses several criteria to determine a vehicle's score.
The study looks at profit margin, labor content, r&d, transmission, inventory capital and other expenses.
It also looks body, chassis and electrical components, and if the car is assembled in the U.S.
