Amazon has cancelled James Gunn's **Starsky & Hutch** reboot.
Gunn has come under fire recently after old tweets of his resurfaced.
The director frequently tweeted crass jokes about child molestation.
Comicbook.com reports Amazon said cancelling the series has nothing to do with recent events.

Gunn has also been let go from Disney's **Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3**.
He said in a statement that he regrets his tweets.
"I have regretted them for many years since ? not just because they were stupid, not at all funny, wildly insensitive, and certainly not provocative like I had hoped, but also because they don?t reflect the person I am today or have been for some time. Regardless of how much time has passed, I understand and accept the business decisions taken today." James Gunn
