San Francisco Gate reports that Chance the Rapper is embarking on a new, non-musical enterprise: publishing. The 25-year-old artist is now the proud owner of the Chicagoist news website.
Chance purchased the website from WNYC via his own company Social Media LLC.
According to variety, he intends to use the publication to promote ?local investigative journalism, diversity, and representation for people of color in media.?
Chance provided a statement to The Gothamist that reads, ?I look forward to relaunching it and bringing the people of Chicago an independent media outlet focused on amplifying diverse voices and content.?
