Bo Burnham was once a YouTube star in 2006 but is now the director of ?Eighth Grade.? The film is about an anxious young girl struggling to find her place in an adolescent world. According to Rolling Stone, Burnham wanted to do something personal but of someone younger. In his film his character comes home to make inspirational YouTube videos. Burnham said he did research by spending time looking at videos who did not have many views.
