Kevin Smith is applauding Warner Bros. and DC Films.
According to Screen Rant, Smith is happy they're taking a chance on The Joker origin movie.
The film is set in the '80s and will star Joaquin Phoenix. It's produced by Martin Scorsese.
It will be directed by Todd Phillips.
The movie will tackle the Clown Prince of Crime's early days as a failed comedian
The film will also feature Batman's father, Thomas Wayne.
The budget of the movie is roughly $55 million, much less than previous DC movies.
It's the budget that's made Smith so happy.
