The indie box office is venturing into scripted films rather than just showing documentaries. A24?s latest film ?Eighth Grade? has set a new record for the best per screen average of 2018. ?Eighth Grade? sold out its screenings at its four locations in Los Angeles and New York. According to SFGate, just from those screening the film made $252,284. This means that the film made just over $63,000 per screen average.
