TheWrap reports Starz has renewed its new series **Sweetbitter** for a second season.

The series is based on the national bestselling novel of the same name by Stephanie Danler.
**Sweetbitter** stars Ella Purnell, Tom Sturridge, and Caitlin FitzGerald.
Danler serves as creator, executive producer and writer on the series.
