The film beat the Thursday night preview for Doctor Strange, which made $9.4 million on its preview night.
It also surpassed DC's 2017 mega-hit movie Wonder Woman which earned $11 million when it debuted.
?Ant-Man and the Wasp? is projected by independent trackers for an opening of $75-85 million.
Some analysts projecting a start over $90 million.
