VIDEO : Annual Box Office Makes $6 Billion Record Before July

The first half of 2018 has been full of box office record breakers, and now for the first time ever, domestic revenue for the year has passed the $6 billion mark before the end of June. According to TheWrap, no previous year in box office history has even come close to that mark after the first six months. ComScore reported that 2018?s year-to-date total revenue is currently up nine percent compared to 2017. If things stay at this pace for the remainder of the year, this year's total box office revenue could top 2016?s record $11.3 billion.
