'Clerks' director Kevin Smith was overcome with emotion when he realized he no longer has to shop at a store specializing in plus size apparel. The 47-year-old filmmaker told Us Weekly he's spent most of his adult life being quite overweight. But following a heart attack in February, the wake-up call led him to partner with Weight Watchers. Now, he says, he's already lost 42 pounds and is closing in on his goal of 50 pounds! Smith added one surprising note to his health and fitness regime: he says smoking marijuana helps him stop craving food! In fact, his doctor told him that being under the influence of cannabis during his heart attack probably saved his life, since he was so relaxed!
