Robert Zemeckis is the filmmaker behind Back to the Future and The Polar Express.
ComicBook.com is reporting he will tackle Roald Dahl's beloved novel The Witches for Warner Brothers.
Warners had been looking for a project that would excite Zemeckis.
The studio met with Zemeckis about The Flash, a project he did not ultimately take on.
The Roal Dahl book is about a young girl who discovers a coven of witches in her town.
No word on when production of the film will start.
