Star Wars director Rian Johnson is taking the franchise in a brand new direction.
Johnson will helm his own trilogy of films that are completely separate from Skywalker Saga.
Lucasfilm made said that Johnson's trilogy of films would be a unique story to the Star Wars mythos.
Ram Bergman, Johnson's production partner on these upcoming films.
According to Comic Book.com, Bergman revealed details of the films to the site From the Grapevine.
Bergman reiterated what many already knew about the project.
---It?s a completely new trilogy that writer-director Rian Johnson, my partner, is going to create. It?s all new characters. Everything is new.---
Bergman revealed Johnson's trilogy is still in the early stages of development.
