Barr compared Jarrett, a black woman, to a character form Planet of the Apes. Barr issued an apology to Jarrett after public outcry and ABC scrapping her show. Then on Tuesday night, Barr tried to explain her remarks: "It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting." "It was memorial day too ? I went 2 far & do not want it defended." Social media quickly dragged Roseanne for blaming her medication on the incident. The pharmaceutical company that manufactures Ambien even issued a shady tweet. They wrote, "Racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication."
