After a preview of the upcoming "Thundercats" reboot went online, fan reaction has been mixed.
Cartoon Network's new "ThunderCats Roar" has taken liberties with the original material.
The upcoming animated series features a look that's in stark contrast to the original's.
The classic Saturday Morning Cartoon ran from 1985 to 1989
It told the saga of Lion-O's fight to defend Thundera and was drawn in a classic style.
The reboot is drawn in a "Chibi" style, where characters are drawn in an exaggerated way.
Which is sparking some polarizing reactions from fans of the original.
But Director Jeremy Polgar, a lifelong fan of the series, is heading off criticism.
He wrote: Yo! I'm directing on @victorgogogo s Thundercats series! Hate all you want but this show rocks! #thundercats #animation #sakuga
Fans will have wait to see how "ThunderCats Roar" performs when it hits Cartoon Network in 2019.
