VIDEO : Fenty Beauty Announces Launch Date For Rihanna's Products

Celebrity in this news:

Though it was rumored that the products Rihanna teased in her captivating Vogue video would be launching in the next few weeks, Fenty Beauty has finally confirmed the exact launch date. In an Instagram photo showing Rihanna herself glowing (with the help of some Fenty Beauty, naturally), the brand announced there will be some new additions to the Beach, Please collection on May 21.
The new Beach, Please products will be available at Sephora, Harvey Nichols, and on Fenty Beauty's website, and if they're anything like the original collection, they'll likely sell out quickly. If you're a major fan of Fenty Beauty, get ready to shop as soon as this line drops so you can get your summer glow on.
When she's not designing lingerie, acting in movies like the upcoming Ocean's 8, and recording new music (fingers crossed), Rihanna ? perhaps you've heard ? is kind of into makeup. The Fenty Beauty founder is Vogue's June cover star, and to help celebrate the occasion Rihanna recorded a 10-and-half-minute video for Vogue.com in which she shares a going-out makeup look using her brand's products ? some current and some not yet available. And be forewarned: If you somehow didn't already love Rihanna, you will after watching her be completely adorable throughout this clip.
After trying a few different intros, Rihanna kicks off the routine by applying and blending her Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation with a makeup sponge. She goes on to contour seemingly every part of her face ?cheeks, forehead, chin, nose, and then some ? with the Match Stix Matte Skinstick in Mocha. "Very important to contour your face for your face, not the way you see on every YouTube tutorial, because everybody has a different shape," Rihanna advises. "I learned how to contour when I gained weight, believe it or not. That?s when it comes in real handy."
After blending her contour, she uses another, lighter Match Stix Matte Skinstick as a concealer, followed by her Invisimatte Blotting Powder. "I use this powder to set my contour, to set my makeup, to blot ? oh, my gosh ? when you get greasy on the fly, honey, it is no joke," she says, as she applies it all over her face. "Always in my purse. I can never leave home without this. And if it doesn?t fit in my purse, then I?m changing my purse." Bronzer is next, going over all the spots she contoured as well as her eyelids.
Then things get extra-interesting. Rihanna picks up a duo compact containing a pink shade on one side and a golden shade on the other ? a combination that isn't yet available from fentybeauty.com or Sephora. Is it a new Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter? An as-yet-unseen eye shadow? She doesn't say. What she does say is, "Beach, please. BEACH, PLEASE. Get it?" Perhaps the punny shade name of whatever the product is? "I?m going to start with the pink on the lids because it says summer...sunset...love...drama...bitches." Oh, OK, so it's an eye shadow!
But then she uses the golden side on her cheekbones! What are you doing to us, Rihanna? But wait, hold up. She grabs another duo compact an unfamiliar combination of icy blue and champagne, adding the latter to her cheekbones, too. "I layer highlighters all the time. There?s a technique to it," she explains, still not revealing any more details about the product. "You just have to figure out what kind of look you?re going for. And the colors need to make sense; they need to blend together."
Rihanna completes the look with a metallic-pink lip gloss that reflects gold ? and it doesn't appear to be one of Fenty Beauty's existing Cosmic Gloss Lip Glitters. Unsurprisingly, this wasn't lost on Instagram beauty sneak-peeker @trendmood1, who posted a collage of screenshots featuring the new products, suggesting that they'll be dropping May 21, a date seemingly confirmed in the caption of a shortened video posted by @fentybeauty.
