VIDEO : Kristen Stewart, Ava DuVernay & 80 Other Women Staged A Powerful Protest At Cannes

In the past 72 years that the Cannes Film Festival has taken place, very few women have one. According to refinery29.com, "Throughout the festival?s 72-year history, only one woman, Jane Campion, has won the festival?s highest honor, the Palme d?Or." In fact only three of the twenty one films in the festival were created by women. In response to this 82 women walked silent and arm-in-arm down the red carpet in protest of underrepresentation.
