VIDEO : Original 'Roseanne' Writers Are Confused By Pro-Trump Reboot

Writers for the original "Roseanne" say they don't recognize the characters in the new reboot. The original series ran from 1988 to 1997. Some of the writers told BuzzFeed that they don't understand why the new tenth season is conservative and pro-Trump. Writer Stan Zimmerman said, "A lot of people involved in the show were surprised when she turned right-wing and supported Trump because that was just not the person or her character that we had known." Roseanne Barr, the actress who plays Roseanne, is a supporter of Donald Trump in real life. Writer Miriam Trogdon, said, "[T]he original Roseanne, I think, would have been more upset at his attitude toward women and his misogyny."
