When Joel McHale's son was diagnosed with dyslexia, he realized that he suffers from the same learning disorder.
They share the same symptoms.
The Learning Disabilities Association of America says that dyslexia "can affect reading fluency, reading comprehension, writing, spelling and sometimes speech."
Joel said that when he was the host of E! The Soup from 2004-2015 he often felt anxious.
He said, "...so anxious because I can?t really read and ? I had to read a teleprompter.?
The comedian admitted that he clung to comedy as a result of having the learning disability.
He told Dax Shepard?s Armchair Expert podcast on Monday, ?I knew I loved acting and performing, so I really dove into that, and school always became secondary ... I knew that I could tell jokes in class and that always did well.?
