Director Damián Szifron is leaving Warner Bros' film "The Six Billion Dollar Man"
The Argentinian filmmaker also wrote the screenplay for the film.
The film is an adaptation of the 1970's TV series "The Six Million Dollar Man"
Mark Wahlberg is slated to star as former military officer Steve Austin.
When his life is saved by bionic implants that grant him extraordinary abilities, Austin becomes a secret agent.
Both the film and TV series are based on the novel ?Cyborg? by Martin Caidin.
Previously, Szifron wrote and directed Argentina?s Oscar foreign-language nominee ?Wild Tales.?
He stepped down over creative differences.
The studio is looking for a replacement director with the intention of shooting the film this summer.
?The Six Billion Dollar Man? is still scheduled for release on May 31, 2019.
