VIDEO : Spielberg?s West Side Story Holds Open Casting Call in New York

20th Century Fox is holding an open casting call in New York for Steven Spielberg?s musical, West Side Story. The original stage musical centers around warring gangs in 1950?s New York. The story is a loose retelling of William Shakespeare?s Romeo and Juliet. There is a demanding nature in the iconic song and dance numbers in the film. Because of this Spielberg seems to have started pre-production well over a year before he intends to roll camera. The open casting call will search for the five lead characters. It will take place Sunday, April 29 for ages 15-25.
