VIDEO : Trevor Noah Included In TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People List

South African comedian Trevor Noah has been named as one of TIME magazine's 100 most influential people of 2018.
TIME magazine unveiled its annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world on Thursday. The list has been split into pioneers, artists, leaders, and icons.
The magazine paired guest contributors to write about each of the 100 people on the list.
Kenyan-Mexican actress Lupita Nyong'o writes about Noah: "A fantastic storyteller, he has always been a defier of rules, which he broke simply by being born in his native country. At The Daily Show, which he has truly globalized, Trevor seeks out comedians of color in every possible venue, no matter how small." (Read the full insert here)
The Black Panther actress is set to play Noah's mother in the film adaption of his 2016 best-seller, Born a Crime.
Among others chosen this year are Roger Federer, Tiffany Haddish, Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Lopez.
"TIME's annual list of the world's most influential people is a designation of individuals whose time, in our estimation, is now. The TIME 100 isn't a measure of power, though many on the list wield it," wrote the magazine.
This follows the magazine naming Noah as one of its Next Generation Leaders in 2017. TIME magazine praised Noah for his impressive rise to fame and his work as host of The Daily Show.
Noah took over from Jon Stewart as The Daily Host in in 2015.
