A big-screen adaptation of a video game series featuring gigantic, city-stomping monsters, Rampage held off a challenge from surprise hit A Quiet Place, which won the box office last weekend and is outperforming expectations both critically and commercially so far. Although Rampage got mixed reviews from critics (to the tune of a 50-percent ?Fresh? rating on RottenTomatoes), ticket-buying audiences enjoyed it immensely, giving it an ?A-? grade on CinemaScore.
