Donnie Yen starred in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and is working once again for Disney. Yen has now been cast as Commander Tung in the live-action adaptation of Mulan. His character will be a mentor and teacher to Mulan. Mulan will be played by Chinese actress Liu Yifei. Mulan is the story of a girl taking the place of her father when he is drafted into the Chinese military. Yet woman are unable to enlist so she pretends to be a man in order to take her father?s place.
