Emily Blunt asked husband John Krasinski to cast her in his movie.
The couple star together in the hit horror movie A Quiet Place.
"When I read the script, I really wanted to do it. John [Krasinski] had already approached another actress ? a good friend of mine ? so I told him he had to ring her and sack her." Emily Blunt on "The Graham Norton Show."
Blunt said she wasn't originally interested in the project when Krasinski began working on it.
She had recently given birth to their second child and finished shooting Mary Poppins.
Blunt told Norton she's "luckily still friends" with the actress she had fired.
