The MCU's upcoming Captain Marvel, co-directed by Anna Boden, will be the first Marvel film with a female director. According to a report by the Hollywood Reporter, Executive VP of Physical Production for Marvel Studios, Victoria Alonso, hopes that the future of the MCU will have an equally split gender representation. Alonso said, "I think it has to be a conscious search for the best human ? and hopefully the best human, as we continue to fill out our slate, is half and half." Alonso has worked with Marvel Studios since 2006 and, alongside president Kevin Feige and co-president Louis D'Esposito, has been one of the key members of bringing the MCU to life. Captain Marvel will also mark the first solo female-led film in the MCU.
